After a quiet summer for US online poker, a big announcement has been made by e-mail to players at Bovada Poker. This is the largest of the offshore US poker sites (licensed from the Kahnawake native territory located inside Canada) and was best known for its pioneering anonymous tables.

What will happen is that Bovada players will transition to Ignition Casino (I think its safe to assume that the room will be called Ignition Poker). The software platform will be the same, the tournament schedule, promos and games will be the same – though player loyalty points accumulated at Bovada Poker will not be moved over.

Ignition Poker, in terms of player volumes, is the most popular US-facing site in the world. It is renowned for its fishy players, strong tournament roster and is the only poker site serving US players that currently has a mobile app.

  • Ignition’s Online Poker Tournaments. The online poker real money craze started with tournament poker, and Ignition Poker is proud to offer the.
  • Not only is Ignition Poker trustworthy they also offer a huge games selection. You can choose from a wide list of cash games, sit n go’s, and big multi table tournaments. Cash games have buy ins as low as $10 all the way up to $2000 a table.

This article over at Online Poker Reports suggests that there may be some ownership link between Ignition Casino – which they point out looks like a well funded venture – and Bodog. For those of you who were not around, Bodog was the pre black-Friday brand which transitioned players to Bovada.

I have some questions concerning this move, and as soon as things become clear I’ll update this page. These include:

  • Bovada Poker is US players only, will Ignition Poker open their doors to other countries?
  • What will happen to players that signed up first for Bovada Poker, and then moved over to Casino and Sports Betting (will they now play at Ignition Casino, or continue to play at Bovada Casino?).
  • Will Ignition Poker continue with the anonymous poker model?

You will not find too many mentions of Bovada Poker here at High Tech Gambing, or its sister-site Sit and Go Planet. The reason is that the owners decided that they did not want publicity of links to the poker room from 3rd party sites, and asked us all to remove the mentions some time ago.

Whether Ignition make the same decision remains to be seen. You can check all the details at www.ignitioncasino.eu

Meanwhile, other US friendly poker rooms are running well.

OSS3 at America’s Cardroom

The main event of the summer for online poker players is the OSS3 (Online Super Series Cubed) at America’s Cardroom. This 3 events back to back, and includes another of the ACR flagship events, which have a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. The events run from the 14th August through to the 25th September, and satellite qualifiers are available for all of the games from the mini-OSS through to the High-Roller events which end the series.

At the moment new players get a scratchcard every day for 20 days after your first deposit. This gives you between $2 and $6 in ‘tournament dollars’. You can either spend them as you go on the smaller buy-in games (for example Jackpot Poker lottery SNGs) or save them up for a bigger game.

Player's Complaint

Yes I have an issue that I feel I was not treated fairly. I signed up and was playing poker. Now the same exact cards would come two or three times and that happened several times. The players are working together to keep bidding you out of even seeing the flop. And would go all in every time and so getting your blind so unless you wanted to go all in they just sit there and do this over and over till I was out of money. I never got one good hand.

Thanks

Hi klgiger - welcome to ThePOGG.com!

Unfortunately there's not going to be anything we can do to help you with this issue. While I understand your frustration, based on the size of the contested loss there's no reasonable chance that you would have a data set large enough to prove the other players at the table were colluding. Without proof there's no basis for us to uphold your claim.

All I can suggest is that if you are convinced that the poker games at Ignition casino are not being operated fairly that you look for somewhere else to play.

Sorry we couldn't be of more help,
